Most of the best paying jobs in Kenya are highly marketable and often have a significant impact on the growth of a company. In 2022, professionals in the medical and engineering field continue to enjoy handsome monthly pay. Herein are the top 10 high-paying jobs in Kenya.

Below are top ten high-paying jobs in Kenya. The salary range indicated is for established and experienced professionals in each field. The job fields are not listed in any particular order.

The aviation profession guarantees you a lump sum salary in Kenya due to the shortage of pilots in this industry. A fully-fledged pilot does not receive a monthly compensation like in most professions. Instead, they are paid on an hourly basis depending on each flight hour flow, not to mention per diems. A low experienced pilot takes home about Khs 132,000 in monthly payments, while the highest-paid professional can pocket close to or even more than Ksh 420,000. This makes it one of the highest-paying jobs in Kenya in 2022.
To become a pilot, one must study aviation in an accredited institution, and the course takes about 3 years. However, it is one of the most expensive courses in Kenya, and you must have more than Ksh. 5 million to study. You can also join the military, where they will train you, but you must serve them for about 10 years before leaving to join the normal aviation industry.

Lawyers are shrewd, smart, and quick thinkers. To join the profession, one must pass their KCSE with a minimum of B plain before enrolling in prestigious colleges like the University of Nairobi or Strathmore University for a four-year law degree course. Graduates have to join the Kenya school of law for two years before starting as advocates of the high court.
An established lawyer in Kenya earns about Ksh 133,000 per month, but the most experienced can earn up to Ksh 2 million. In most cases, criminal lawyers and attorneys representing business tycoons and politicians can pocket more than Ksh 5 million.
Becoming a doctor anywhere in the world requires patience, lots of study hours, and a sharp mind. The good thing about the medical profession is that there is always a demand for doctors, and you are guaranteed of getting employed. After completing your medical bachelors’ degree, you will start as an intern, and most hospitals pay between Ksh 28,000.

Medical doctors and surgeons are always learning. The most learned and also the most experienced professionals working in big hospitals like Mater, Nairobi Hospital, or The Karen Hospital earn as high as Ksh 400,000 per month.

Actuarial science is one of the top-paying jobs in Kenya, and qualified professionals are guaranteed a salary of about Ksh 100,000 per month. The earnings of experienced actuaries can reach over Ksh 160,000. Becoming an actuary requires a lot of study hours, and one must be good at Mathematics.
After graduation, one must do over 12 other papers and meet the requirements of the Society of Actuaries to become a certified actuarial scientist. To get to such positions, one requires a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, and professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIFA, or CFA. Additional learning such as a master’s degree, PhD, and fellowship programs are always an added advantage.
